Hugo BOUTAN, Head of the engineering department at CTP Environnement
CTP Environnement is an industrial services company specializing in Chemical Cleaning and Effluent Treatment using mobile units.
In 2020, we were awarded a contract for the hygienization of pathogenic sludge at one of our client's sites.
To meet this specific requirement and address its numerous challenges, our Engineering Department initiated the development of a new treatment unit.

Among the key challenges were mobility, rapid deployment, and the operating methods and processing rates required by our client. Above all, however, the project involved a core challenge outside our traditional area of expertise: the hygienization of solid waste through lime treatment combined with temperature increase.
Based on the input data provided by the client, and as we do for every new unit, we first carried out a preliminary design study. This included analyzing the input data, conducting laboratory tests, performing material balance calculations, and developing process flow and equipment layout drawings. We then consulted various equipment suppliers to integrate the required technologies into the solution.
During our search for a mixing system, we met Sofraden, which quickly proved to be a true partner in the development of this outstanding project.

Lucas HOY, Project Manager at Sofraden
Sofraden supported CTP Environnement throughout the entire project lifecycle, from testing and design to manufacturing and commissioning.
The first step was to identify the most efficient technology by conducting trials on our mixers.
We supplied a complete unit incorporating a lime silo, a mixer, a receiving hopper, and an extraction screw conveyor.
One of the project's key challenges was to make the process energy self-sufficient while enabling rapid deployment on site without the need for material handling equipment.

An effective collaboration was quickly established. Sofraden successfully identified and translated the right solutions into the machine design to meet the mobility and ease-of-deployment challenges that are the hallmark of CTP Environnement’s units.
As a result, the project’s first objective was achieved: to deliver a machine that could be transported using standard logistics means, deployed quickly and easily, and operated without the need for external handling equipment.

Today, we have a well-designed machine that successfully completed its first operation at the client’s site.
Following this real-world deployment, we identified several opportunities for optimization and will continue working together to develop and implement these improvements.
We are very confident about the upcoming treatment campaigns that will take place across our client’s various sites.
In addition, we can now expand our range of services for municipal wastewater treatment plants. In fact, following the COVID-19 crisis, the hygienization of sludge can now be carried out directly on site using our new MIXMOBIL unit.
