This is the case when potentially explosive materials are used for which you are required to define ATEX zones.
Our industrial mixers can be designed to perform operations in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The European Community adopted two Directives relative to explosive atmospheres on 1st July 2003:
- Directive 1999/92/EC aims at establishing and harmonizing minimum requirements for improving the health and safety of workers potentially at risk from explosive atmospheres.
It must be enforced by employers (users) and stipulates among other things a classification of zones concerned by this risk. - Directive 94/9/EC concerns equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
It is to be enforced by the companies that install / supply equipment. It includes details relating to risk analysis and conformity assessment in accordance with the classification previously established by the user.
All our mixers can be adapted to meet your requirements and so display the required CE marking for use in a defined explosive atmosphere.
Special mixers

We are also able to make machines that combine mixing with other functions, e.g. mixers with adjustable vessel volume to undertake mixing processes that require constant pressure irrespective of how full the vessel is.
